Irish 1917 - 1921 War of Independence Active Service medal & presentation box

One of the earliest Irish 1917 - 1921 War of Independence Active Service Medals issued, featuring attractive dark toning with slight discoloration on the upper right of the obverse, possibly the result of an attempted cleaning. It is accompanied by its original box, complete with the internal green silk resting pad, as well as two slips: one from the president and another bearing a mounted cutting of the service medal ribbon intended for wear when the medal itself is not used.
