Description
Rare 1965 Set of 3 MCM MOD R. Foster & Son Chairs A unique set of Mid-Century Modern chairs originally made for UK MOD / government contract use. Clean design with floating-style backrests, perfect for dining, office, or statement seating. Much stronger and heavier than typical unmarked MCM chairs. • Authenticity: All 3 chairs retain original government labels underneath (R. Foster & Son, NATO Stock Number, British Broad Arrow mark, dated 12 Nov 1965). Additional government stamps on the frames. • Materials: Heavy, solid hardwood frames (appears to be African teak / iroko) with rich grain and warm teak tones. Original black vinyl seats and backrests. • Condition: Very good overall with normal light signs of age. Two chairs are in excellent condition. One chair has two small nicks/cuts in the vinyl on the front edge (clearly shown in photos). Frames are extremely sturdy. 📍 Collection from Ballincollig.
