Beautiful Majestic Rare very Large Vintage Hand Carved African Hard wood Rhinoceros Sculpture. Circa 70's/80's, this elegant Sculpture of a charging Black Rhinoceros is a Wonder to behold. Made from one of the Densist and heaviest hardwood (African Ironwood/Leadwood ) in the world from the Dalbergia Melanoxylan tree ,this type of wood is so heavy and dense that it sinks in water . This Beautiful Beast weighs in at 17.5 Kilograms (approx. 2 stone 10 lbs.) and is a Massive 33 inches (84 cm.) Long , 11 inches (28 cm.)High and 9 inches (23cm.) Deep. Some restoration work over it's lifetime, but in beautiful original condition overall.
