Size: 42 cm x 32cm This is tranh sơn mài (Vietnamese lacquer painting), a traditional craft combining multi-layered polished resin with shell relief work. The scene: multi-tiered pagoda (temple), a traditional boat, overhanging bamboo/pine flora, and a setting red sun. Provenance: brought direct from Vietnam by a Vietnamese family friend. Condition: the picture is perfect, some tiny scratches on the frame. Available to collect in Galway.
