Description
Gérard Laplau (1938-2009) was a French artist, illustrating life in a poetic and naïve style, through past scenes of village fairs and countryside. His work is known worldwide thanks to his collaboration with Villeroy and Boch. What is it? A porcelain shoe for Christmas, of course! Made by Villeroy & Boch, this winter decor piece features the iconic Design Naif pattern by Laplau: a frosty winter scene of log cabins, busy people, and happy dogs. Why a shoe? December 6th is Saint Nicholas Day in Europe. On the eve of the 5th, children put their shoes outside their door for a visit from St. Nickolaus. If the children have been good, they will find candy and treats in their shoes. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No condition issues noted. Please use photos to help you assess condition. Size: About 8.75" long, 2.5" tall and 3.25" wide. That's about 22 cm long, 6.5 cm tall and 8.5 cm wide. Please add €6 postage or collection in East Clare or Limerick City
