In addition to side steps, mesh grille and upgraded lights, the exterior boasts a new set of Rostyle-inspired 20” forged wheels from Chelsea Truck Co. that are wrapped in fresh Accelera C/T tyres, totally a cost of nearly €5k. A very welcome retro alternative to the more modern wheel styles usually seen on Defenders. The Chelsea Truck Co. enhancements don’t stop there, however, because inside is one of the best looking and most comfortable interiors we’ve ever experienced in a Defender. A full set of caramel coloured herringbone leather bucket seats (with heated fronts) have been fitted in addition to a matching steering wheel and dash trim, plus a set of new factory doorcards at a cost of nearly €11,500. The quality, comfort and feel (not to mention the smell!) is remarkable and the colour is a perfect compliment to the rich red paintwork. The other notable upgrade is the Pioneer/Alpine sound system which features CarPlay and reverse camera. A/C is another welcome bonus. The big ticket items aren’t the only impressive aspect of this Defender, either. It clearly has lead a very pampered life and drives incredibly well without a rattle or squeak, with that 2.2 diesel engine upfront being surprisingly powerful and refined.
