I highly recommend Bluebell motors for your new peugeot purchase or for a service. I bought from them 5 years ago and went back to them this week to upgrade my car. From the initial phone call earlier in the week with Daragh from an ad I seen on done deal, to the signing off yesterday he was just fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was processed seamlessly and we even had great chats with Daragh and David offering us peace of mind that we would be looked after even after we drove away. I bought a demo model Peugeot 5008, so essentially a nearly new car. The sales process itself was fine and Darragh was good to deal with - that’s the only reason this isn’t a one-star review. However, not long after purchase the car needed a sensor replacement, which was thankfully covered under warranty. Six months after the first service, the engine repair light came on again. I brought it back to the dealer only to be told the oil was “degraded” and I would have to pay a relatively significant amount for an oil change.

This was extremely odd - not only should oil not degrade so quickly, but it had supposedly been changed at the service just six months earlier. It also raises the concern that this error could point to a deeper underlying problem with the car, not just routine oil use. Despite this, the dealer flatly refused to cover the costs or even discuss an alternative solution.

It seems that once I had bought my car, my business was no longer valued. I was made to feel like I was only trouble to them rather than a customer they should be looking after. To make matters worse, a brake caliper failed far sooner than it reasonably should have, and that turned into an expensive repair. I didn’t even bother going back to Bluebell for it, as I had already lost confidence in them. It’s almost funny how awful the service department’s customer service is - I’ve bought cars for a quarter of what this one cost and not been treated as an inconvenience when theres been trouble.

What they may have saved by refusing to help their customer, they will lose many times over by losing my repeat business. All I really want is a dealer I can trust, somewhere I can confidently buy and service my cars without the hassle of having to look for a new garage every time. Instead, I was left with no choice but to take my business elsewhere. I also emailed Peugeot Ireland directly, but after a long wait their response was basically that it was nothing to do with them.

Looking back through reviews, I see that most of the negative ones mention the poor service department - and many are edits of previously positive reviews. That says a lot.
