Got a call from Simon to see how I was getting on with the car I bought from them 18months ago.  I explained that an issue had occurred in the last few days and Simon stayed on the phone for about 2 hours until we had the issue more or less resolved.  Couldn't have asked for better service.  Very impressed.

I had few things inspected on my Ford Focus. Within few hours the problem was fixed and I wasn't charged anything! Further more the appointment was quick and the staff was very polite and professional. I recommend!

Extremely disappointing experience with Volvo Athlone from the day I collected my car.

I bought my Volvo XC40 Recharge brand new three years ago. On collection, it had been left parked among the cars at the side of the garage, and I was simply left to locate it and manoeuvre it out myself. It was a very poor handover for a new car.

Gap insurance and paint protection were also added to the purchase despite me having specifically stated that I did not want them.

Since buying the car new, it has been back to this garage approximately 16 times in three years. An air-conditioning issue took around eight visits to resolve, while a vibrating steering wheel took five visits.

A parking sensor was replaced under warranty but fitted incorrectly, so the car had to be returned. Buzzing interior lights took three visits before they were replaced. The replacement lights were fitted poorly, with visible light leaking from around the sides. The car went back for a fourth visit, but the fitting issue remains unresolved.

A tow gap was replaced under warrenty but not painted the correct colour. Requiring yet another revisit to have it resprayed in the correct colour.

I was also charged 0.5 hours’ labour to replace one tyre after the car was towed in with a flat. I had phoned specifically seeking a quote before the work began but was not given one. One year earlier, I had been charged only 0.2 hours’ labour to replace two tyres.

On several occasions, faults I reported were initially dismissed, leaving me feeling as though I was imagining them. I later requested a complete service and repair history, but what I received appeared to contain gaps, particularly for the first 18 months.

Over the three years, I have seen most of the staff change and three different service managers come and go. The premises now appear to be primarily trading as Joe Duffy ZuCar for used cars, with Volvo operating from one section. It no longer looks or feels like a normal dedicated Volvo dealership.

The recurring experience has been poor communication, repeat visits, inconsistent workmanship and a complete lack of continuity. Having bought the car brand new, I never expected to return it approximately 16 times in three years. My confidence in this dealership has completely broken down, and I will now be taking the car to Volvo Galway.

Good evening, I was very disappointed with Joe Duffy's auto repair shop in Athlone. I called the service a year ago and they told me that some parts needed to be changed because there were oil leaks. I made an appointment and paid as much as I was told but there were no changes and the oil is still flowing. I went after they changed my parts twice and there were no changes. I paid for the timing kit but it was not changed. I went to another mechanic today who told me that the kit was not changed and that the engine was full of oil in the back.
