THE MOON AND THE THAMES The piece depicts the idyllic panoramic view of London over the majestic River Thames by night. It was painted with quick brush strokes and uses glossy acrylic spray to enhance the luster of the moon in the center of the composition, straight lines to create a conical perspective displayed on the scrapping (raclage) technique. Total size with frame 32" wide and 47" long. These paintings are both by Prettau. Prettau is an artist whose work is influenced by the traditional rules of descriptive geometry in architectural drawing (her formal profession), combined with an artistic interpretation of the urban environment capable of conveying a certain poetic essence.
