18” & 16" cymbals hand hammered in Turkey ZULTAN

This listing is for a set of a 18" crash ride and a 16” crash cymbal, hand hammered in Turkey, by the Zultan company, Dark Matter series, with the logos and a large amount of the patina removed to slightly open the cymbals. The cymbals are from my own collection and are in EXCELLENT condition with no crack, dent, warp, or other funky business. Just used (in the good sense of the term). It also has the deep lathing grooves that used to be the hallmark of old K's from the 1960's (and one of the reasons I decided to try these). The tonal characteristics of these cymbal are thus quite logical: very explosive crash, cutting through the mix, relatively fast decay, with some dark trashiness. The 18" is also great as a left-ride and can definitely be used as a left side crash ride, with a very present and clear stick, without losing control even when you lay hard on it. These cymbals will project and cut through the mix so I'd say it would fit perfectly in classic rock, big band jazz, metal, and perhaps even punk... where amplification and music volume calls for a cutting cymbal. But these are quite versatile and also sound perfectly comfortable with acoustic music, such as folk rock or singer songwriter music. These are NOT entry or mid level cymbals! They are surprisingly great quality instruments that totally hold themselves compared to cymbals costing 3 times their price (and I've owned hundreds of cymbals!). I am only selling because I do not do the type of projects I used them for anymore, so I'd rather invest in other gear I can use and I also would love to make a budget-conscious drummer happy.
