WORKING LIVERY OPPORTUNITY — CARLOW/KILDARE BORDER

I’m looking for a reliable, experienced person to join a small private sport-horse yard approximately 10km from Carlow town. Full livery for one suitable horse is offered in exchange for morning yard duties six days per week (Monday-Friday and Sunday), generally taking approximately 1.5–2 hours. The livery package includes: • Stable, grazing and use of the arena • All hay and bedding • All evening care • Complete care every Saturday • Optional weekly coaching from an HSI Level 1-qualified coach. You would only need to attend the yard in the mornings, with no return journey required later in the day. Morning duties will include: • Feeding and turnout • Mucking out stables • Hay, water and preparing evening hay nets • Basic horse checks • Tack cleaning and keeping the yard organised You would care for your own horse as part of the morning routine alongside the other horses. This would suit an experienced, capable rider who wants excellent care for their horse, good facilities and a supportive private-yard environment while remaining free during the afternoons and evenings. Applicants must: • Be confident handling fit sport horses • Be capable of working independently and to a high standard • Be genuinely reliable • Have their own transport • Provide references The applicant’s horse must be well-mannered and suitable for the yard, turnout and facilities. Specialist feed, supplements, farrier, veterinary care and insurance would remain the owner’s responsibility. Please note that this is a working-livery exchange rather than an additional salaried position. Any additional work outside the agreed morning duties would be discussed separately. Start date around mid-to-late October. An initial paid trial period would apply before the horse moves in permanently.
