Acupressure & Massage for Horse Owners

Join us to learn a gentle yet effective technique to support the health and well-being of your horses. Experience a different way to view your horse’s body, identify problem areas, restore balance and improve the connection with your horse. This one-day workshop is designed for horse owners, riders, grooms and other equine professionals to practically support your horse’s soundness, health and well-being. Acupressure is a gentle form of manual therapy that uses gentle finger pressure applied to certain points on a horse’s body. The practice has its foundation in Traditional Chinese Medicine and works on the same principles as acupuncture. It takes a holistic view of the body and aims to identify and restore imbalances that may affect both physical and mental health and wellbeing. Massage is a manual practice to manipulate a horse’s soft tissue. It aims to relieve tension, increase blood and lymphatic circulation, reduce stress, and improve flexibility and performance. In this workshop, we will learn about the application and benefits of both massage and acupressure and its basic principles. This is followed by hands-on sessions with a focus on developing a safe and basic protocol which can be used for your horse’s general maintenance as well as pre and post competition. Learning outcomes equip you with the skills and knowledge to better assess the physical condition of your horses and to identify problem areas. You will learn to apply safe basic massage and acupressure techniques and when it is time to call the vet and/or an equine therapist. Suitable for: Horse owners, riders, grooms & other equine professionals. No prior acupressure or massage knowledge required. All levels welcome. Small group of max. 8 participants.
