Clear and easy website to use for browsing and bidding. Very helpful in loading the equipment purchased.
If you are unsuccessful in winning an item the deposit is returned promptly.

Bought a couple of MEWP’s at an Auction recently, they needed some work as expected, (new batteries and casters) overall experience was good, very easy to deal with the process was straightforward.

Bought few bits and pieces anything that was new was fine but nearly every tool Bought was scrap and non repairable .there was even tags on them from a tool repair shop stating that what was wrong and that they weren't repairable.when listing the items for sale these tags were discreatly tucked out of site.
The hidden charges you dont see also add up to more than the item your buying .if its used leave it there

For the benefits of anyone reading:
I got my money back via claim back from my bank. That is a fact. Another fact is clause 6 of the Irish machinery auctions terms and conditions. If anyone is in a similar situation to me with these cowboys here's some useful information:

1. Notify IMA Immediately
Email IMA as soon as possible — state the item was misrepresented/damaged/etc and you are exercising your right to rescind under Clause 6
Screenshot the listing immediately
Do not collect the goods

2. Chargeback Through Your Bank
If IMA refuse a refund, contact your bank and request a Visa chargeback for “Not as Described”
Must be raised within 120 days of the transaction
Provide: screenshot of listing, your emails to IMA, proof of non-collection, and a copy of Clause 6 of IMA’s T&Cs
If the merchant disputes it, insist on pre-arbitration and resubmit all evidence
If unsuccessful, get a Final Response letter from your bank — you’ll need it for Step 3

3. Complain to the FSPO (If Bank Fails)
File a complaint against your bank (not IMA) with the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman — www.fspo.ie
Free to use — argue the bank had clear evidence and failed to pursue the chargeback properly

4. Report IMA to Regulators
PSRA (regulates auctioneers, can withdraw licences) — www.psr.ie
If PSRA rejects your complaint, appeal to the Property Services Appeal Board (PSAB) — psabsecretary@psab.ie
CCPC (consumer watchdog, logs complaints for enforcement action) — www.ccpc.ie — Helpline: (01) 402 5555

5. Small Claims Court (Optional)
Claims up to €2,000, €25 fee — apply at www.csol.ie
Do not rely on consumer legislation — it has been found not to apply to auction sales
Instead, argue: breach of contract + Clause 6 of IMA’s T&Cs + Sale of Goods Act 1893, Section 13 (goods must match description)
If refused, you can appeal to Circuit Court within 14 days (€25) — but costs can be awarded against you at that level

Clause 6 — Your Key Lever
IMA’s own Lot Entry Terms and Conditions (Clause 6) state that the buyer has “the right to rescind the contract for the sale of the item if it has been materially misrepresented by reason of its condition, age or mechanical condition, but only if the Purchaser gives notice of same to the Auctioneer.”

These crowd are complete and utter cowboys. They operate in a grey area in the law. My experience of them is that they do not follow the consumer protection laws of this country. Product descriptions will not match the actual products being sold, they will hide behind the line that the person purchasing had an opportunity to inspect prior to the auction.

They sell scrap tools. Recently bought generator outside looking good. But not working and when we open up was fire damage. They can't do anything.
Offer me put up again for auction for sale and maybe someone buy it again. Scamers.
