The Adams name has been synonymous and traditionally associated with transport over the past 70 years. This association was started by Michael Adams (Sean Adams’ father) and his brother, Jack in the 1930’s. The Adams family ran a daily bus service from Tarbert to Limerick and had the largest postal delivery service during this time, right up until the 70’s when the structure of the postal service changed.

The Garage business also started in the 30’s, in a time when there was no electricity, when the petrol and the air for the tyres had to be pumped by hand. Sean Adams built his first garage in the 60’s for a cost of &pound;1760 and along with repairs Sean started to sell cars. It was in 1969 when he acquired the Peugeot Franchise and in 2019 we will celebrate 50 years with Peugeot making Adams of Glin the longest serving Peugeot Dealer in Ireland. It will also mark a celebration of over 75 years involved in the servicing and selling of motor vehicles making Adams of Glin one of the longest serving motor dealers in Limerick and Kerry.

In 2002 we undertook a major redevelopment of our site which involved the demolition of our old premises and the construction of a new shop, forecourt, 8 bay workshop, parts departments and an 11 car showroom. Got my V40 from the garage over the summer. Travelled from Waterford, Staff have been a pleasure to deal with particularly Ben who looked after me through the whole process & had no issues answering any questions (and the Dad's EV questions as well). Picked up the car a few days later with a full tank of diesel, something I didn't expect but was very happy it.

I have never dealt with this company before (bought a car or got a car serviced off them), but I had to bring my car to a Peugeot dealership to fix a part. From start to finish ( before, during and after) the service was great. The women I dealt with were kind, courteous and helpful and made me feel at ease. The mechanics were quicker than expected and even power washed my car. It is probably the best customer experience I've ever had with a car dealership.

I bought a car from another “dealer” last October, and the car gave numerous issues and transpired to be a crashed car and they never disclosed. Absolute nightmare to deal with and had to return after 2 months. Had an awful experience and needed a good car fast. That’s when I came to Clarke Brothers.

Came to Clarkes looking to replace it and not only did Shaun take measurements and details of the car (for my work) and give them to my mother before I called to test drive, but could not have been more helpful or understanding.

Left my review until my warranty had ended to give a thorough and honest review based on my experience…suspension arm changed during the 101 AA point check before leaving the car out first day.

After a few weeks my adblue tank failed, about a €2,000 repair which they took care of it under warranty hassle free. (Not their fault, adblue problems happen sadly!)

Not only that, I had an issue getting it tracked where the tracker refused to track it. Shaun & Sean Clarke (the owner) took my car in, and gave a full day going through it to make sure it was right and re-track it out of the goodness of their hearts. They didn’t have to do it, but I truly appreciated the lengths they went to, to ensure the car was right. That’s what you call a good dealership and it’s things like this that make you truly appreciate dealing with professionals.

Bought a second car from them 2 weeks after this car, and we are both very happy and thankful to Clarke Brothers. When I need to change, I’ll be back!

We've used Hugo Loonam's occasionally in the past for servicing a Citroen C4. Never had an issue.

We bought here recently and must comment very favourably on the process. We found a car online that ticked most of the boxes, and went to view it, meeting Seán in the showroom, and taking a test drive.

Seán dealt with us straight up and honest, with none of the BS one gets too often in the car showroom. We considered the deal and went for it.  I won't say he was a pushover, coz he wasn't. He was firm but fair, and when my asks went too far for him, he quickly escalated to Hugo, who was equally firm but fair. We went ahead, and when we collected the car, everything we had agreed had been done on the car, without any skimping. A niggle we found later was reported to Seán who raised it with Hugo, who immediately agreed to sort it out.

We're very happy with our purchase so far, and advise others accordingly. Don't be unreasonable, and you'll be treated fairly.

The level of disrespect from some employees here is ridiculous. I was talked down to and given zero information on my car unless i reached out myself. My Citroen car had an ECU issue that has been ongoing so I decided to have the car towed to Hugo Loonam as that’s where I had bought it a few years back. Took 2.5 weeks to get an appointment and then the car proceeded to stay in the garage for a week with no work done with the claim they had “too many cars” to work on. Once the job was “finished”, they proceeded to tell me that there was an Ad Blue system issue they couldn’t fix, despite it being a Citeron garage. I was then charged for the work they completed and was left with an engine light, an Ad Blue light and a service light and a reference to yet ANOTHER mechanic which I have to book myself. The car was also absolutely filthy, it was covered in mold (from a window being open and no care taken to prevent that or to clean it) and broken parts of my car. Avoid this place at all costs.
