Owl Boxes that are designed to last! Made in accordance with the Acres Guidelines. A2 Stainless Steel Screws and Fixings used - (which does make this design more expensive - these screws will never rust or cause the plywood to fail) All Weather Sealant applied to all seams and joints. 15 Year Roofing Felt used - (1.5mm thick vs the standard 1.2mm 5 year alternatives) 12mm Marine Ply and Treated Timber Used Can be treated with 3 layers of Ronseal - 5 Year Pet Safe Paint. (Available in different colours - Black, dark brown, green etc.) or left untreated. Will be supplied with mounting timbers, A2 Stainless Steel M10 X 120mm Coach Bolts (to prevent rusting in Oak and Ash Trees) and 6mm x 80mm A2 Stainless Steel Screws. I have installed these for my own Acres contract. Limited number remaining. Remember: • Exterior Barn Owl nest boxes are best situated on large trees with a clear view of the front of the box from the surrounding land • Nest Boxes must be at least 3m high • Ideally the box should be situated out of prevailing weather conditions • Nest Boxes should be installed on a bare trunk so low hanging branches won’t block the view of the box from any passing owls. • It is also important to locate the box away from main roads. • Do not locate the nest box within woodland as Barn Owls are an open habitat species
