Description
All the objects shown are Japanese-style garden lanterns, known as tōrō (灯籠). They come in many shapes, but your pieces match these traditional styles: 1. Kasuga-style stone lantern Features: • Square or hexagonal light chamber • Wide, gently curving roof • Four legs • Carved stone, showing age and moss This is a classic Japanese garden lantern, used traditionally along paths or near entrances. 2. Rustic stacked-stone lanterns ) These appear to be: • Handmade or artisan-stacked stone versions of Japanese lanterns • Inspired by the Yukimi or Mizubotaru lantern style • More organic and rough, often made by garden artists rather than mass-produced 3. Yukimi-dōrō (snow-viewing lantern) Characteristics: • Rounder “mushroom” or “umbrella” roof • Shorter legs • Often placed near water or pathways • Very typical for Japanese-style landscaping The one you have is carved granite and shows natural aging, which increases decorative value. All bids are welcome
