Description
TO BE SOLD AS ONE JOB LOT (X5) - At least a century old as the pier was built in 1882 by the Waterford and Wexford Railway Co. It was called Rosslare Pier and Ballygeary was the Shore base being the local Townland. The Railway ran from Wexford passing through Rosslare Strand, Rosslare Harbour ( later known as Kilrane! and then on to Rosslare Pier -if there was a boat in! , The pier sits opposite our current property and these five sleepers came direct off the track / pier. USED CONDITION NEEDLESS TO SAY BUT IDEAL FOR A GARDEN PROJECT. WE’VE USED A COUPLE OF THEM OURSELVES ON A RECENT GARDEN GIG! Typically worth €40/50 each in decent condition, these have been knocking round a century plus and are showing age but still useable for decorative / garden purpose, Not suggesting anyone build’s a house out of these but they will have a use regardless of condition not to mention the Rosslare history. HEAVY- A good 25 kg each. 6FT APPROX (FIVE SLEEPERS TOTAL) – STUDY THE PICS. The connections to Waterford did not happen until the present pier was built 1902- 1906. STUDY THE PICS REGARDING CONDITION. LENGTH 6FT. X 5” INCH APPROX X 10” INCH (SEE PICS) COLLECTION ROSSLARE! Kind Regards
