Paulownia Elongata is a fast growing tree, making them an excellent choice for timber production or reforestation projects. UK plantation grown to capture 150,000 tons of Co2 in first 10 years. High quality hardwood timber that is durable and resistant to decay. Its deep root system helps prevent soil erosion, improves soil health by cycling nutrients and breaking up compacted soil. Paulownia Elongata can be harvested for timber and will regrow from the stump without the need for replanting. They are Bee friendly producing fragrant flowers in spring as well as adding beauty and shade to landscapes and gardens. They capture large amounts of carbon dioxide, this makes them an important tool in combatting climate change, and contribute to a healthier planet. Paulownia carbon credits are a type of carbon offset that involves planting Paulownia trees. The ability to offset is currently not available to Irish agriculture, but luckily the EU are in the process of standardising a framework for the voluntary framework for carbon removals. One ton of carbon is estimated to be worth €100 by the year 2030
