Fender Custom Shop ’57 Twin Amp This is a reissue of the Fender 5E8-A low powered tweed Twin amplifier from 1957. It comes with - Two 12” Fender Special Design Alnico speakers designed by Ted Weber, manufactured by Eminence - Finger jointed solid pine cabinet - Genuine lacquered tweed covering with vintage brown/gold grille cloth and leather strap handle - Hand- wired circuitry on eyelet board - Mercury Magnetics transformers The amp currently has - 2x NOS General Electric power amp tubes - 2x Electro-Harmonix 5U4GB rectifier tubes - 3x 12AY7 preamp tubes - mix of new and NOS (GE) The amp is visually in as-new condition. Technically in better-than as-new condition, due to NOS tubes and new, selected tubes. The sound of the amp is amazing. Rich, warm, clear tone, beautiful harmonics, extremely dynamic and touch responsive. The amp is designed to use either modern-spec 12AX7 pre-amp tubes, or original 50s spec 12AY7 pre-amp tubes. Power output 40W RMS.
