Ibanez AE500 1990 Cherry Red

These have been described as rare birds and I've never come across another one. Ibanez built these as a cool electro acoustic in the early 90's in an attempt to attract Les Paul players to try out an acoustic. So made with electric players in mind it was built with a front-mounted control panel for the active electronics and a back plate for battery access. However I found that a complete pain so replaced the original control panel with a vintage Fishman PREFIX PRO that allows for front loading of the battery and you never have to unscrew the backplate anymore. It is very slim at only 53mm deep. It's in good overall physical condition for the age with only very mild play wear. However the action is high at the 12th fret due to what I'm told is a drop in the body. The truss rod works fine and I'd sent this into Marty in Manapia guitars for a full service so I'd suggest anyone who is interested plays it first. The low price for a rare vintage Ibanez reflects this high action :-) Electrics are 100% and if you only play in the top frets then this guitar can be enjoyed or with a capo down the length of the neck. Comes with it's original Ibanez quality gig bag (don't make them like that anymore). The nut width is 43mm. Please check all pictures and let me know if any questions.
