Description
Final price drop to €900. I am guessing that only the oldies out there will know what this is! If you were an aspiring teenage guitarist in the late 1970s you'll remember that Aria PE series guitars were all over Top of The Pops with the likes of Andy Summers in The Police and Gerry Cott and Garry Roberts from The Boomtown Rats who were toting PE1000s - Gerry even had his own signature model the PE1000GC. The PE series was Aria's take on the Les Paul (though it differs in construction, scale length and control layout). Having owned 70's Gibsons, I can confirm that it was built to a far higher standard than most of the Gibsons of the period. It was made in the legendary Matsumoku factory in Japan and it looks like it has sat in its case for the last 47 years. It is in mint condition - real time capsule stuff - with the original hard shell case, original hang tags, warranty card and Allen keys. It is basically a new old stock guitar from October 1978. Specs are in the dealer slick picture. The Protomatic IV pickups were supposedly modelled on Gibson's T-top humbuckers of the era. Everything works as it should and the action is super low. I can guarantee that you will not find a cleaner guitar of this vintage anywhere. I'm not interested in any trades thanks.
