SansAmp Classic, Year 1999/2000. Used, In Good condition. Works perfectly, sounds killer! The Tech 21 SansAmp Classic is an analog guitar preamp / amp simulator pedal made by Tech 21. It became famous in the late 1980s and 1990s for letting guitarists get realistic tube-amp tones without using an actual amplifier. ⸻ The SansAmp Classic simulates: • Tube amp distortion • Speaker cabinet response • Mic’d amplifier tone That means you can plug your guitar: • Directly into a mixer or audio interface • Straight into a recording system • Into a power amp or effects return …and still get a convincing amp-like sound. It was one of the first successful analog amp simulators ever made. ⸻ Famous Use One of the most famous uses was on the album: • Nevermind by Nirvana Producer Butch Vig used the SansAmp Classic to record some guitar tones directly into the desk.
