Description
This is a 1960s Eko Navajo 12—made in Italy. It is a step below the Eko Ranger XII in quality. However, that said, the Navajo is quite rare … whereas the Rangers are plentiful. ** It has a crack in the front, see last picture.. It is stable though, and doesn't affect the playing at all. ... I have owned this guitar for about 20 years, the crack was exactly like this when I got it... NOTE: Unlike most 12-strings, this is Auditorium size, a bit smaller than the usual Dreadnought. This Italian made EKO Navajo 12 string guitar, has laminated mahogany back and sides, with laminated spruce top, mahogany & maple three-piece bolt on neck.. And I believe they were still fitting Brazilian Rosewood fret boards back then! All original parts, tuners, chrome tailpiece, adjustable bridge, nut, saddle, truss rod cover, neck plate & screws.. plus the case, possibly not original. Consistent with a guitar this old - over 60 years - the action is rather high : 1/8" at first fret, 1/4” at seventh fret, 3/8” at twelfth fret. So unless you like high action - or play slide - the guitar might not be for you without a neck reset. No fret wear, no lifting of the bridge. Apart from the crack, this guitar is in very good condition, with very few age related knocks & chips around the body edge. Strings removed for photos, I'll restring with a new set.. 👍 Sensible offers are welcomed! Collection only, but I could perhaps meet you..
