Edermine Honey is a 100% raw, artisanal product. Antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial........the list goes on. And the taste is so wholesome, without being overly sweet. It is a true superfood! Produced in very small quantities by native Irish honey bees in Co.Wexford, 1 time per year. It is a multifloral honey and 2 stage cold strained, so the enzymes and goodness remain, and are not destroyed by heating and ultra-filtering. Beekeeping is a very time consuming hobby, so to simplify things and to keep the practice as natural as possible, commercial beekeeping practices are not applied to Edermine Honey. This means that the bees are not given any medications whatsoever, nor are they fed artificially at any time of year with sugar syrup or fondant. Therefore not manipulating the natural processes within the hive, and results more in natural selection. Hives are not propped up artificially, by feeding and medicines. And it also means that you are getting 100% raw honey in the jar, without traces of chemical treatments, and no dilution of honey with sugar syrup. Do bees forage on a mixture of highly refined, granulated sugar and water in nature? No! They forage on nature's nectar from flowers and plants, and turn nectar into honey. Which is what you get in my jars! Bees, like humans, need a balanced diet in order to remain healthy. Multifloral honey is a result of this balanced diet. 500g weight of honey excluding jar.
