The boiler's circulation pump, containing hot fuel, will stop, and the heating water temperature in the boiler will begin to rise rapidly because heat is not being removed from the boiler. A thermostatic valve, which operates without electricity, ensures safe boiler cooling in such situations. When the valve reaches 100°C, it opens the supply of cooling water from the water supply, which directly cools the boiler and thus protects it from overheating.
