If you have a lot of water in the bottom of your oil tank, it could reach the level of the outlet pipe, enter your heating system and damage the pump. Water is the heavier liquid and always separates from oil so it will be sitting in a layer on the bottom of the tank. We have a water-finding-paste that can be smeared onto a dipstick and will show in a few seconds how much water is in the tank.
