Description
Loved by the honey bee this is an absolute must have for beekeepers. It will flower within 8 weeks of being sown and continue all summer where it will continue to attract honey bees the whole time. While borage is classified as an annual it will quickly colonise an area and reappear for there for years. The stems are a little bristly but the flowers of this plant are used to garnish summer drinks such as Pimms and also add a sweet to fruit salads or indeed any salad. Google and you will find many recipes.Seeds need a fine and fluffy seedbed. It does not need to be deep at all. 2 to 3 cms deep is perfect. Roll or lightly rake in afterwards. Scattering them on uncultivated soil is not recommended. Sold in 50g packets to cover 75 square metres. Wildflower meadows, gamecrops and ACRES winter bird feed also available online; www.rathcormacgunclub.com
