Abarth enlarged the capacity of the vertical twin cylinder engine of the 500 to 594cc increasing power output from 18 to 28 bhp. In 1964 the 595 SS was introduced with 32 bhp giving a top speed of 130kph. This was soon followed by the competition only model, the Assetto Corsa. At the 1964 Motor Show in Geneva the ultimate version was launched, the 695 SS. This car heralded in over a decade of motor racing success. The good quality Brumm model on offer is the Fiat Abarth 595 that won the 1965 Coppa Gallega driven by Leonardo Durst. This was a round of that season’s Trofeo Italiano Turismo. The car was entered by “L. Garavello” – shown on side of car. Model is in very good condition and is in its original display case with outer packaging box. More photographs are available on request.
