It was the first car built by Maserati and a total of 11 were constructed between 1926 and 1932. The model offered here is the winner of the Grand Prix Class in the 1926 Targa Florio. Entered by the works Officine Alfieri Maserati, number 5 was driven by Alfieri Maserati himself with Guerino Bertocchi (1) as his riding mechanic. The Tipo 26 was powered by a Maserati in-line 8 cylinder DOHC engine of 1,493cc with Roots supercharger and 2 valves per cylinder developing 120 bhp at 5,300 rpm Model is in good condition and is on original display base.
