The car, entered by the works team, David Brown Racing Department, was driven by Roy Salvadori (GB) and Carroll Shelby (USA). They completed 323 laps on the way to victory. The metallic green two-seater open sports car was powered by Aston Martin's 6 cylinder in line DOHC engine of 2,992cc with 3 Weber 45 DCO carburettors giving 250 bhp @ 6,000 rpm.
