Black Maul willow. This silvery-grey variety is very strong and flexible. It’s a great all-rounder. Black Maul willow still retains its bark, so it needs to be soaked for 4-6 days and then mellowed for 1 day before weaving. Buff and White Willow. This is willow that’s been stripped of bark. It’s very easy to work with and great for beginners. Both buff and white willow is ready to weave with after just a few hours of soaking.
