Description
1946 Luscombe 8a on the UK register with a new LAA permit. The airframe total time is just 2361hrs, the A65-8 engine is original specification, so hand start, no generator and it has 659hrs SMOH at April 2001. The compressions at the permit were 77, 75, 75 and 77. The propeller is the more desirable metal McCauley 1B90/CM7447 which has 73hrs SPOH. The aircraft has metal wings and the wider track Siliflex undercarriage. The fuel tank is in the fuselage and holds 14USG, which is 53L total fuel. The electrics are run off a wind-driven Basic Products 1008/BPE 14 alternator, which is a very expensive mod. The battery is an Odyssey PC680 battery. Cruises at about 84kts and burns roughly 17L per hour. Like all aircraft of this era with a 65hp engine, useful load is a factor. BEW is 886lbs and MTOW is 1260lbs, so useful load us 374lbs. The aircraft is hangared and ready to go. Based in Ireland for viewings, can be delivered to the UK at an extra cost to the buyer. Collection from the airport, is not a problem, as is the hangarage to wait to get the right day to collect it.
