Description
This is a set of 4 very old South African banknotes, first printed around 1978 and last series with this signature was 1981. The R1 note is the oldest note here, with a noticeable difference as there's a border around the note and different design. It features Jan van Riebeeck on the front, along with the signature of T.W. De Jongh. On the back there's a ram in a field. This note has the most wear, and quite a few creases, but is still in decent condition with no tears or stains. The R2 features Jan van Riebeeck on the front, along with an electric pole and the signature of T. W. De Jongh. On the back is an electric plant. This note also has signs of use, but is in reasonably good shape. There are 2 very small tears at the bottom, but go unnoticed to the untrained eye (or unless it is examined closely) The R5 features Jan van Riebeeck on the front, along with a diamond and the signature of T. W. De Jongh. On the back is a mining site. This note is in impeccable condition, almost completely unused, as it is crisp and flawless, with all 4 corners pointed. Take note of the serial number on this one....040657....this means that this is one of the much earlier prints of this series. The R10 features Jan van Riebeeck on the front, along with a protea and the signature of T. W. De Jongh. On the back is a bull and ram. This note is also in excellent condition with very little sign of wear, and only 1 visible crease. It is still crisp and firm with most of the corners pointed. This is a very rare set and would make a great addition for any collectors
