Antique Gents/Ladies Sapphire Solitaire Ring -15ct

Here we have a simply beautiful sapphire solitaire ring dating from around 1887. The ring is set with a stunning cabochon cut sapphire with the most beautiful rich royal blue colour and set within a curved and rounded 18ct yellow gold band. The ring is wonderfully tactile and so comfortable with the rounded edges. The ring has an old inscription within the band (which I cannot quite make out) and the date 1887. The ring is in exceptional condition for its age and appears to have not been worn for a very long time, it is near perfect. The ring is unhallmarked but has been fully tested for 15ct yellow gold. The finger size is a U (US 10) and can easily be re-sized up or down to fit anywise.. This would make a stunning ladies or gents engagement ring.
