Cartier Tortue Small Model, Rose Gold and Diamond

This timepiece represents a modern, jewelry-inspired interpretation of Cartier’s iconic, century-old *Tortue* (tortoise-shaped) silhouette—a design that marries rich historical heritage with a graceful, feminine allure. · Design Origins: Created by Louis Cartier in 1912, the *Tortue* was the brand’s third signature case design—following the *Santos-Dumont* and *Tonneau*—and predates even the celebrated *Tank* collection. In an era dominated by round watches, its distinctive, curved "tortoise-shell" lines introduced an avant-garde, ergonomic approach, becoming an enduring symbol in the history of Cartier watchmaking. · Case and Gem-Setting: Crafted from 18K rose gold, the gently curved *Tortue* case measures 33.4 mm x 26.7 mm with a thickness of just 7.2 mm, ensuring a lightweight, comfortable fit on the wrist. The bezel is set with 48 brilliant-cut diamonds (totaling 1.32 carats), while the signature octagonal crown features an additional 0.05-carat diamond—upholding the exquisite standards of Cartier’s high-jewelry timepieces. · Dial and Hands: The clean, minimalist white dial is accented by rose gold-tone steel sword-shaped hands, offering clear, precise legibility against a pure backdrop—an elegant, understated aesthetic. · Movement and Strap: Powered by a high-autonomy quartz movement, the watch eliminates the need for daily winding. It is paired with a vibrant red alligator-skin strap and an 18K rose gold pin buckle, creating a striking color contrast that infuses the classic design with a bold, contemporary spirit. · Water Resistance: Water-resistant to 3 bar (approximately 30 meters), suitable for everyday wear.
