Bechstein IV Grand Piano

Bechstein are a top German manufacturer, ranking alongside other greats such as Steinway and Bluthner. This 7 foot 2 inch Bechstein Model IV was original built in 1888 and in the early 2000's was rebuilt with new strings, felts, and tuning pins. The rebuild cost 6000 sterling. It is a pleasure to play with significant volume and presence when required due to it long new strings and large perfect original soundboard. It has even depth of tone throughout, with a strong Tenor and potent Bass register. The cabinet is original, but in remarkably good condition for its great age, as are the keytops, no yellowing or wear. It was kept out of sunlight all its life, in good climate, and this helped to preserve it. We have recently pressure blasted the internals and regulated the action. It is stable in Concert Pitch, with excellent response, capable of keeping up with a professional player. The brass fittings are like new and the pedal section functions perfect. The soundboard is in superb shape and we have cleaned it thoroughly. Turned ornate legs and pedal section, fish-tail cabinet design. Some minor wear, very little for age. Overall a sturdy and well built instrument with no cracks or issues. The Model IV is rare and sought after.
