Piano French Polishing

Is your piano looking a little tired? Faded finish, water rings, scratches from years of family life, or that mysterious mark nobody will admit to making? Brian Maloney Piano Services now offers traditional French polishing to bring your piano back to its original deep, rich shine. French polishing is the classic hand finish used on fine pianos and furniture for generations. Layer upon layer of shellac is applied by hand to create a warm, glowing finish that no spray can quite match. It's slow, careful work, and that's exactly why it looks so good. What's involved: Careful assessment of the existing finish Stripping and repair of damaged areas where needed Filling of scratches, dents and marks Colour matching to the original timber Hand applied shellac built up in layers Final burnishing to a deep, lasting gloss Ideal for: Heirloom and inherited pianos Antique uprights and grands Pianos you're preparing to sell (a polished piano sells faster and for more) Restoring a centrepiece to your home As a qualified piano technician, I understand pianos inside and out, so your instrument is in safe hands from start to finish. Tuning and refurbishment can also be arranged at the same time if your piano needs a little love on the inside too.
