That name tells a real story. Theodor Steinweg was the son of the man who founded Steinway & Sons in New York. Theodor kept the family firm going in Germany, and when he later sold up to join his father in America, his partners Grotrian, Helfferich and Schulz carried the business forward under his name as a mark of respect. That company grew into Grotrian Steinweg, one of the most highly regarded piano makers in Europe to this day. So what you're looking at isn't just an old piano. It's a genuine piece of the same family tree that gave the world the Steinway name, built by craftsmen in Braunschweig who carried that tradition forward on their own terms.
