The piano was professionally moved last weekend into their fully insulated, dry and weatherproof outbuilding, where it is safely stored while it awaits its new owner. Having filled the house with beautiful music over many years and seen several pianists through their grades, it is no longer played as it once was. With some reluctance, my parents have decided it's time for it to find a new home where it can be enjoyed as it deserves once again. The piano would benefit from a tuning, having been played very little in recent years. It would also respond well to a gentle polish, with just a handful of light surface marks to the cabinet that are only noticeable on close inspection. A few details about the piano itself: Yamaha's renowned U Series has long been the preferred choice of professional musicians, teachers and discerning amateur pianists alike. Built for only a relatively short period during the 1990s, the U10A is a less common Japanese-market model from Yamaha's premium piano factory. The U10A produces the rich tone, depth and resonance for which the U Series is famed, with a beautifully-balanced and highly responsive action. An ideal size for most homes or studios, standing at 121 cm tall. Among Yamaha enthusiasts, the U10A is widely regarded as being built to a higher specification than the similarly sized U1, making it a particularly sought-after model. Overall, this piano is in very good condition and has been well cared for throughout its life.
