1940s Carved Hardwood Oriental Table

Stunning Chinese carved hardwood tilt top tea table in very good condition. Dating to the period from 1940s. This table was made for the European export market at a time when there was a revival of interest in Oriental items. The table top scenes are intricatly hand carved in deep relief with a floral and geometric border. The top is mounted on a gateleg style frame so serves as a decorative screen when not required as a tea table. The deep relief of the carvings are a pleasure to view. Size open as a table: 61cm diameter x 59cm high. Size closed as a screen: 61cm wide x 26cm deep x 89cm high. This table is in excellent condition. Check out my other ads.
