19th Century Mexican Inspired Coffee Table

Handcrafted Rustic Coffee Table – Vintage 19th-Century Inspired Finish A beautifully handcrafted solid wood coffee table, designed and finished to capture the warmth, character and timeless appeal of 19th-century reclaimed furniture. Every part of this table has been carefully worked and finished by hand to create a distinctive contrast between the richly darkened base and the weathered, silver-brown tabletop. The Base: Finished using the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban wood-charring technique to bring out the natural grain and texture of the timber. The wood has then been treated with Dark Oak Briwax, creating a deep, warm, aged appearance. The Tabletop: The tabletop underwent a lengthy ageing process, receiving full coverage of Dark Oak and Walnut stains before being left to cure for two weeks. The surface was then carefully rubbed back by hand, revealing the natural grain, knots and beautiful variations in the timber. The result is a distinctive silver-grey and weathered oak finish, reminiscent of antique reclaimed furniture. Finally, the tabletop has been protected with matte polyurethane, providing a durable, practical surface while preserving its natural, understated appearance.
