Rare Very Large Hand Carved African Rhinoceros sculpture. Circa 70's/80's,this Elegant sculpture of a charging black Rhinoceros is a majestic sight to behold. Made from one of the densest and heaviest wood in the world, African Black Ironwood/Leadwood from the Dalbergia Melanoxylon tree,is so dense and heavy it sinks in water. This Beautiful Beast weighs in at 17.5 Kilograms (2 stone 10 lbs.) and is a massive 33 inches (84 cm.) Long, 11 inches (28 cm ) High.9 inches (23 cm.) Deep. Some Professional minor restoration over it's lifetime, but in Fabulous condition overall. Probably the only Original one of it's size in Ireland.
