1992 Yamaha XV750 Virago

Selling my 1992 Yamaha XV750 Virago after putting a lot of work into getting it mechanically right and giving it a good cosmetic refresh. I bought the bike as a project with a running issue on the rear cylinder. Rather than just getting it running well enough to sell, I stripped into it properly, found the faults and repaired them. The bike now starts, idles and runs properly on both cylinders. Recent work includes: • Rear cylinder head removed and inspected • Bent intake and exhaust valves replaced • Valves lapped and checked for sealing • Valve clearances and cam timing set • Compression checked after rebuild • Carburettors cleaned, inspected and adjusted • Float levels checked/set • New spark plugs • New regulator/rectifier • New battery • Rear shocks replaced • Front forks refreshed with rebuild kit • New front brake pads • Clutch and brake levers replaced • Final drive serviced • General servicing and inspection carried out Also included are brand-new front and rear tyres, ready to be fitted. While apart, the frame and various brackets/components were cleaned, rust treated where needed and repainted. The seat has not been restored, and I deliberately chose not to repaint the fuel tank as I wanted to keep the original Yamaha side detailing. It shows some age, but I preferred keeping its original character. Reason for sale: I bought it partly as a project, but after riding it I’ve realised the cruiser riding position doesn’t suit me.
