2018 Suzuki GN125

Most 125s look like 125s. This one does not, and that is the whole appeal. Somebody has taken a 2018 GN125 and given it a proper brat style treatment, and they have done it with restraint, which is the hard part. Plenty of people bolt a few bits onto a small bike and call it a custom. This one has actually been thought about. The dark blue tank with the gold pinstriping and the classic Suzuki script does most of the work. Set against a blacked out frame, black forks, black wheels and black shocks, it gives the bike a properly finished look rather than a half done one. The tan diamond stitched seat lifts the whole thing, and the chrome peashooter silencer running down the right hand side is exactly right for the style. Chunky tyres with a bit of a blocky tread pattern finish it off. We were pleased to get this in because bikes like this are generally the result of somebody spending far more time and money than they will ever recover. The tidy details are what give it away. The bar end mirror rather than a pair of standard stalks. The small round headlight. The clean lines where the rear end has been tidied up. Underneath it all it is still a GN125, which is precisely why it is such a sensible thing to own. The air cooled four stroke single is about as simple and reliable as motorcycles get. Parts are cheap and available everywhere. It will start in the cold, it will return excellent economy, and there is almost nothing on it that a competent home mechanic cannot sort with basic tools. You get the look without any of the running costs or the temperament that usually comes with it.
