At 75 my wife and I have retired from beekeeping and have lots of stuff to sell. The WBC is the ultimate hive: double-walled in cedar, weatherproof, rot-resistant. Perfect for surviving wet winters in Ireland. Also much easier to handle the bees that a National Hive. They also look attractive. Frames are the same size as National hives. New hives cost €600-€900. Ours are not new, but they are very good value and will give decades of service. 1. Complete WBC hive with bees €250. A strong colony of bees. 3 supers of comb, brood box, queen excluder and crown board. Painting is for decoration only and needs re- doing; but the wood is durable. without paint. SOLD 2. Anther €250. Similar, but colony of bees less strong and only two supers of comb instead of three. But has three extra spare supers; and a spare brood box which has comb. 3. Collection of WBC hives. Makes 4 hives and more. 7 floors/stands, 17 lifts, 17 supers (some with frames and wax), 1 brood box, 6 queen excluders, 4 roofs, 7 crown/ clearing boards. Selling at €900 SOLD 4.
