A large decorative oil in the classical Baroque tradition. A reclining semi-nude female figure lies on a bed of deep crimson drapery. The canvas is taut, on a six-panel stretcher with cross-braces and corner keys, in a dark-stained frame with a gilt inner slip and a fitted hanging chain. Measures 5ft wide by 4ft. Amazing in the right home.
