Description
Exquisite drawing of winter scene in pencil and chalk on card depicting 19th century St. Isaacs Cathedral in St. Petersburg Russia, that survived the 444 day siege by Germany in WW2. Drawn in 1991 and signed by the artist in Cyrillic script, the art work is protected by a glass fronted metal interlocking frame that is now a part of Soviet history as it was quickly replaced by more modern framing methods. This art work was sold in St. Petersburg in the time of perestroika, when Russia was emerging from the Soviet era, before western methods and designs became popular. You are buying a piece of cultural history. Frame is 9.5 by 11.5 inches. Drawing is 4.5 by 6 inches.
