Detailed Info
- Description
Uilleann pipes in 'B'. These are about forty years old and I'm only thinking, very reluctantly, of selling as my ageing fingers haven't played them for some while now and it's perhaps time they were taken up by someone younger. These are not for a beginner and I will be quite careful as to who they might go to. They are blackwood, including the stock, the ferrules are rolled and tapered brass and the end turnings are ivory, made from Victorian billiard balls, collected from antique markets in the seventies. The bass regulator has a slide attachment to the stock. Though some reeds may need replacing, they are an excellent set. They were selected to be exhibited at the British Crafts Council's contemporary instrument makers show in 1986 in London, and a recording made at the time can be heard on request. The price can also be had on request, which is why there's no figure below, so only very serious interest will be entertained. I reserve the right not to sell. Please text only initially.
