I left the child lock on it in case you have an escape artist reptile as I do, but it can be taken off easily. The plastic vents at the top are a bit degraded from heat but still do the job, and believe you could buy replacements from Vivexotic. Selling as my lizard grew too big for it. Selling it for a low price as I need for it to be collected from my house.
