With a proud company history dating back to brothers Rex and Cromie Mc Candless and a small motorcycle repair shop in Belfasts Fulton Street in 1943, the name of WAC Mc Candless(Engineers) LTD is now firmly established as one of the major distributors of Construction &amp; Quarry Equipment in Ireland.


Sixty years ago, motorcycles and light engineering spawned an interest in construction equipment. The acquisition and subsequent growth of famous brands like NCK-Rapier, Rob Roy, Yale and Ingersoll Rand soon necessitated a move to larger premises on the Limestone Road where the company acquired the Komatsu agency in 1961. Acquired by its present owners in 1975, WAC Mc Candless still trades there to this day.

As the sole distributor in Northern Ireland for Komatsu construction equipment and one of the manufacturers longest established dealers in Europe, WAC Mc Candless has seen its Komatsu representation grow from bulldozers and tracked shovels to cover a range of equipment that now spans almost 300 models of excavators, compact plant, wheeled loaders, bulldozers, telehandlers, articulated dump trucks and hydraulic hammers. One of Irelands fastest growing dealerships, the company holds market leading shares of the excavator, bulldozer and rigid dump truck sectors.

In addition to Komatsu we hold a number of other market leading dealerships for which we provide Sales, Parts &amp; Product Support:

Esco – we have been an Esco Dealer since 1978 supplying bucket wear parts for all sizes of Excavators and Wheel Loaders

Dynapac – we were awarded the dealership in 2013 covering Northern Ireland for Asphalt Pavers, Asphalt Rollers, Asphalt Planers &amp; Soil Compactors. In 2020 our territory for Dynapac was extended to All Ireland.

Atlas Copco – we were awarded the dealership in 2014 covering Northern Ireland for Compressors, Water Pumps, Generators and Lighting Towers

Epiroc – Formerly Krupp and subsequently a division of Atlas Copco now a standalone company we were awarded the dealership in 2016 covering Northern Ireland for Hydraulic Attachments including Rockbreakers, Concrete Cutters, Concrete Busters, Hydraulic Pulverizers, Magnets, Sorting Grabs, Crusher Buckets, Hydraulic Compactors, Drum Cutters and Auger Drive Units. In 2018 our Territory for Epiroc was extended to cover All of Ireland

Xcentric – we were awarded the Xcentric dealership for Hydraulic Rippers, Crusher Buckets and Screener Buckets in 2014 covering All Ireland and have since sold numerous machines into Quarries and Demolition Companies
